We can discuss your feeding concerns, scheduling, and insurance or payment options so you can feel comfortable knowing what to expect before booking.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. I’m happy to talk with you and help you determine the next step for you and your baby.
A discovery call is not a lactation consultation and does not include a full feeding assessment or individualized care plan.

Momma’s Milk Lactation Support Will Help Make the Insurance Process as Simple as Possible
-
Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), federal law requires most health insurance plans to cover breastfeeding and lactation support. However, how that coverage is provided can vary depending on your insurance company, specific plan, and the provider you choose.
Many independent lactation consultants operate out-of-network, which means you may need to pay for your visit at the time of service and then submit an itemized superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Many private-practice International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) are not credentialed directly as in-network providers by insurance companies. This can be related to state licensure requirements and how individual insurance companies credential lactation providers.
This does not necessarily mean your insurance won't cover your lactation visit. You may still have out-of-network benefits that allow you to submit your visit for reimbursement.
-
Payment may be required to book an appointment.
You may seek reimbursement from your medical insurance after your appointment. Many insurance companies provide reimbursement for lactation services. Momma’s Milk Lactation Support cannot guarantee insurance reimbursement and will not refund fees that are not reimbursed by your insurance company.
Following your appointment, you will receive an invoice/superbill containing the information needed to submit a claim to your insurance company. If you are unsure about your lactation benefits, it is best to call and speak directly with your insurance company before scheduling your appointment.
-
